Mt. Olive Cathedral C.M.E. Church

"Where there is no vision, the people perish ~ Proverbs 29:18"

Grace and peace be unto you from Pastor Williams.  I welcome you to worship with our wonderful congregation each Sunday morning.  God is bringing together local folks and new residents, young families and the young at heart, and is building this dynamic, loving church in Memphis, Tennessee.

As I view the potent possibilities that await the Cathedral family, I am reminded of a portion of one of my favorite scriptures.  Romans 12:12, "I beseech you, therefore brethren by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

God has entrusted a great deal into our hands; together we will help determine what altitude the Cathedral will soar.  I know and welcome the shoulders we stand on.  We face no allusions.  God is on our side.  We are believers; we believe our best days are still ahead of us.

Moving ahead will take faith and prayer.  Faith that whatever betides us; God will take care of us.  Prayer:  believing that prayer changes conditions and nothing is too hard for God.  God has given me the opportunity to look into your hearts.  I see a congregation ready to face whatever lies ahead.

Every generation should leave a lasting legacy.  When the chronicles of Mt. Olive are written and read, we want ours to be like the Prayer of Jabez, "enlarge our territory".  May it be said that we asked, He provided, and the rest be recorded in history.

May the Lord continue to be our guide and protector is our fervent prayer.

Yours in Christ,

Ronald Williams, Pastor
