Allin Congregational Church, United Church of Christ

Join us for Sunday Worship at 9:45 AM with Nursery Care & Church School

Friends in Christ,

Despite the seemingly never ending rain (yes, I know that it is doing good things for the earth and my new herb garden, but still...) I can’t help but to be giddy as I plan our worship for this Sunday.  In two days we will mark one of my favorite Sundays of the Christian calendar:  Pentecost.  Pentecost is the day we recognize the divine gift of the Holy Spirit granted to all of humanity.  In worship we read the story of that first Pentecost, when, it is said, “tongues like fire” descended on the people bringing them together as one under the divine -not despite of, but rather including the differences that may have, in another circumstance, divided them.  This day allows us to celebrate our diversity and recognize the common thread that unites us:  God’s grace and Christ’s love for all.

In addition, we have the pleasure of receiving five new members this Sunday!  I hope you will join us in celebrating these folk’s commitment to Allin and to Christ as they stand before you affirming their baptism and faith.

Sundays like this are a blessing to our faith and to our community.  I hope you will choose to worship with us this Sunday, joining as we celebrate our connectedness through the spirit.  God bless you!

Peace,
Pastor Cheryl
