Allin
Congregational Church, a United Church of Christ congregation in the historic
center of Dedham, MA, seeks a part-time Minister of Religious
Education to coordinate the educational program of the Church, including church
school, adult education, and youth ministry. We have a thriving program
with about 40 children and youth, from infants through high school. We are
looking for a warm, loving, and energetic individual with a strong Christian
faith as well as teaching experience. Good administrative,
organizational, and leadership skills are essential. The successful
candidate will collaborate with the Pastor, the Religious Education Committee
(RE Committee), and a committed group of teachers and other volunteers to lead Allin Church’s
educational ministries. Salary and benefits are
competitive and commensurate with education and experience. Interested

Overall
Position Time Commitments:
- 15
hours/week
- 52
wks per year, with 2 weeks paid vacation and lighter hours in the summer months
(July, August)
- Available
Sunday mornings for educational activities (combination of teaching,
coordination, and occasional youth worship services)
- Occasional
overnight for retreat (usually no more than two weekends per year)
- Leadership
and participation in regular Middle School and High School Youth Groups
- Attend
RE Committee approximately every other month
- Attend
other church meetings as necessary
- Support
the work of the pastor and lay leaders in adult education
Responsibilities:
Overall
Christian Education
- Follow
mission of the RE Committee and help develop best practices for all aspects of
educational ministry
- Supervise
paid Nursery assistant and coordinate volunteer coverage for nursery
- Work
with teachers to register children for Sunday School
and greet newcomers
- Maintain
communication with children and their families
- Liaison
with Church Secretary for RE information in The Voice church newsletter
and the church calendar
- Develops
and manages RE budget in collaboration with RE Committee
- Coordinate

Reporting:

Reports to the RE Committee, which is in full
partnership and collaboration with the Pastor.

Responsible for regular oral and written
progress reports to the RE Committee as well as formal and informal
communication with the RE Committee’s Chairperson

The successful candidate will be hired for a
three month probationary period, which will conclude with a review, and, if all
parties are satisfied with progress, a formal appointment. After that period,
the Director will undergo an annual performance review by the RE Committee
