We are pleased to announce Rev. Dawn Hermann from Calgary, will join us as our fulltime minister Sunday, July 3^rd.  Please look forward to welcoming her to Jasper.

Our next Board Meeting is Wed. June 8^th, 2011 at 7:30, Pioneer Lounge.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

Our 3^rd Thrift Shop Truck this year was loaded with 6637 pounds of goods for the CDA on Monday with the help of 14 people and 38 volunteer hours. Thanks to all of you who helped.  The next truck is planned for June 11 as part of Jasper’s “Take It or Leave It” event.

Lenie Zuniga and her family (1 adult, 2 children) are currently residing at the Jasper Park Lodge.  She is employed in town and her children are into various activities here. In case anyone knows of a rental apartment / property available in town, please call at  780-852-4920 or cell 780-883-0517.

Surprise Lake Camp is opening up its 60^th summer camp season on May 20^th – 23^rd, 2011 (long weekend).  All ages and talents are welcome to join us for our annual clean-up, so bring your tools, your friends and your enthusiasm for our 60^th year of operations. Jasper United Church is having its 43^rd Annual Plant Sale at the McCready Centre on Thursday, May 26^th, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, on Friday, May 27^th, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, May 28^th , 2011 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.   There will be hanging baskets, plants and perennials, as well as a larger selection from Templeton’s Green House.  

You Are Invited - 2011 Celebration of Ministry Service – May 29^th, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Heritage Amphitheatre, Hawrelak Park, Edmonton, Alberta. 

Worship Services in the Jasper United Church is as follows, as our search for a new minister continues.  Pam Jeck will lead the Service on May 15^th, David Prowse will lead the Service on May 22^nd, and Margaret Gaundroue will lead the Service on May 29^th, 2011.  Our Church needs volunteers for the pulpit on Sunday, June 5^th, 2011, and for Sunday, June 12^th, 2011.  Margaret Gaundroue / Val Fleming will carry out the Service on June 19^th, 2011.  We will also need a volunteer for Sunday, June 26^th, 2011.  Please advise Margaret Gaundroue at 780-931-2605 or e-mail her at maggie5657@gmail.com if you are able to volunteer.

Today, Sunday, May 8^th, 2011 is Mothers’ Day.  To all our Mothers, our very special thoughts and appreciation to you for all you do.

Our spring concert for 2011 will be held on Monday, May 9^th, 2011 at 7:30 PM in the Jasper United Church. “An Evening With the Summit Singers” will include a full choir, a men’s quintet and an audience participation sing-a-long.  It will be a fun music night for all – so everyone is welcome !! 

Seniors’ Spring Fling – Thursday, May 12^th, 2011, 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM in the McCready Centre – Fiddle River Band will entertain and refreshments will be served.  Everyone welcome !!
