This is based on our belief...
...that the church community is a place where all kinds of people of all ages can come to know that they are loved and accepted by God.
...that each person has been gifts for lives of service in the name of Jesus.
...that the more welcoming and diverse our community, the richer our encounter with God.
Thanks to all who participated in Blue Jean Club during the summer. It was great to see a steady flow of kids and as usual, some kind souls stepped up and took a turn at leading them!We will once again be offering Kids Night Out. Last year we had a great time making crafts, playing games, singing songs, swimming, tobogganing, cooking, baking and many other activities. We ended the year off in April with a magician and a family supper.
Our kick off BBQ is scheduled for September 24th at 7:00 PM at the church. Please bring your child or mention it to any other child you think would benefit from this group. We only charge $20/child for the entire year (runs till April) which is an amazing deal.
The groups are as follows:
Monday nights:
Messengers – Boys and Girls Grades 1-3
Explorers – Girls Grades 4-6
Boy’s Group – Boys Grades 4-6
Sunday nights:
Youth Group – Boys and Girls Grades 7-12
We are fortunate to have a few people come forward and offer to help lead the groups but we still have some openings. Please consider being a leader, even every second week. Heck, we’ll even take you if you want to do it only once a month! It’s only for one hour and you can either be involved in the planning and organizing or simply just come to help. It’s not difficult, it’s actually very rewarding. It’s an amazing feeling when you’re shopping in Safeway and a child from the group recognizes you and runs up to you and gives you a big hug!!

Mill Woods United Church
This year we will be meeting the second Sunday of each month with a different activity planned for you. Most meetings will be at the church, or we will be carpooling to special events. Meet at 7:00 pm at the church.
This year our Youth Leaders are Joyce Miller and Karen Carroll. Joyce has an extensive background in working with teens and drama, Karen has three boys who give her lots of experience in drama!
