Wednesday, July 26 -- River Tubing

River Tubing on the Vedder River

Float down the Vedder River with your friends, catch some sun, relax, and get ready for some excitement! What a way to cool down on a hot summer day!

Must wear life jacket (or bring a parent), fastenable footwear (no flip flops), and sunscreen. Bring a tube and/or dingy paddle if you have one.

Must register with andre@sardisfellowship.com so we know how many tubes we need.

Drop off at 1:00 at Teskey Rock, ~200m east of the Vedder Bridge.
Pick up at Keith Wilson bridge (northeast side) at 4:30.

Tuesday, August 8, 5-9pm -- Boating at Cultus Lake, Jade Bay

Spend an afternoon at the lake (on the beach, on a boat, on a tube, on a wakeboard, whatever) with friends from our youth group and the youth group from New Beginnings in East Vancouver. This event is not only fun but is also a great ministry opportunity for connecting with our friends from the city…

Cost: $10 gets you hot dogs, pop, and a few litres of boating gas for hours of fun.

Bring: swimwear, sunscreen, towel, life vest, beach toys, $10

Get dropped off at Jade Bay boat launch at 5pm, get wet, eat some hot dogs, have some fun, and then get picked up 9pm. Try to share a ride.





Tuesday, August 15 -- Waterslides

A day of sun, water, slides, and fun at the Trans-Canada Waterslides.

Where: Trans-Canada Waterslides in Bridal Falls
Date: Tuesday, August 15***, 4-7pm
Cost: $6 (plus spending money for concession; locker rental is $3/day)

***If the weather forecast doesn’t change as we get closer to the date, we may move the event to Monday, August 14. What you need to do if you want to come:

  • Let me know you’re coming (we need 15 people to get the group rate)
  • Find a ride (I can take 6 people from the church at 3.30)
  • Be there by 4.00 so we can get in as a group

What to bring:

  • Swimwear
  • Towel
  • Liquid
  • Money for admission (optional: locker rental $3 and/or food, mini golf, etc.)If any of your parents want to join us as youth leaders/sponsors, feel free to let them come along, it really will be okay.

Bike to Cultus Lake

Ever bike to Cultus Lake? Just doing our part in saving the environment, and think about it, you'll just appreciate the nice cool water so much more after a good bike ride... Meet at the church with your bike (in good condition--your bike, you'll be okay). Must wear helmet. RSVP with Andre. 

Meet at the church at 1:00. We'll be back by 7:00pm for pickup.

How about we add a BBQ just for fun? Cost you only a few dollars.

Bring: bike, helmet, water, sunscreen, towel, swimwear, $3 for food

Wednesday, August 30 -- Paintballing

PAINTBALL!! Sniper, elimination, manhunt, you name it... Just be prepared to get covered in paint (maybe the odd bruise) and to spend $25 at the very minimum.

September 20 -- Youth Kickoff for JrH & SrH

Water Wars 2007 – For Sr. High & Jr. High – Friday, Sept 15 (6-11pm).  Meet at SFBC to travel to Maple Ridge Baptist Church for a massive water war with other youth groups, much soaking to be done (no friendly fire against your pastor is permitted, seriously, or watch out for reciprocity!); worship concert, root beer floats.  Cost:  20 water balloons (small versions better) filled with water, per person.

Regular Youth Events will Begin on Wednesdays for Sr. High & Jr. High combined, on September 20 @ 7pm for grades 7-12 (grade 6, by special permission, contact Jon).
