First Baptist was founded in 1827 as the Granville Street Baptist Church (renamed First Baptist Church in 1886) and is a member of the Halifax Region United Baptist Association as well as the Atlantic Baptist Fellowship. We are intentionally ecumenical and inclusive in our services (Sundays at 10:30 a.m.) and programs.

Jesus heals a leper.

Today is the sixth Sunday in the season of Epiphany, a season that ends next week with Transfiguration Sunday. Today's Gospel reading tells the story of the healing of a leper by Jesus. Rev. Renee Clark will lead the service and offer a story for the children. Rev. John E. Boyd will preach a sermon entitled "Choices Jesus made."  Music will be provided by our Senior Choir, conducted by Lynette Wahlstrom, our Director of Music. The scriptures for the day are  2 Kings 5:1-14Psalm 30; 1 Corinthians 9:24-27Mark 1:40-45We hope you will join us.
