Our Mission: First Baptist Church is an inclusive and ecumenical community of believers in Jesus Christ committed to proclaim God’s mission of love by word and deed. Our Vision: First Baptist Church will be a Christ-centered community of diverse people experiencing God’s unconditional love and acceptance, finding opportunities to grow and nurture our faith, and sharing that love, acceptance and faith with the world. | Welcome!  First Baptist was founded in 1827 as the Granville Street Baptist Church (renamed First Baptist Church in 1886) and is a member of the Halifax Region United Baptist Association as well as the Atlantic Baptist Fellowship. We are intentionally ecumenical and inclusive in our services (Sundays at 10:30 a.m.) and programs. We wish to get to know you better and for you to meet our staff.
