Allen Wayte, former organist and choir Director passed away suddenly in December. A memorial concert to honour Allen’s memory was held on February 22, 3 PM, at First Baptist Church Halifax, 1300 Oxford Street. The concert under the direction of Shawn Whynot featured Blue Engine String Quartet, Chebucto Singers, Elastic Millennium Choir, Seton Cantata Choir, and the Choirs of First Baptist Church, Halifax. Also appearing in the concert were:  Kaila Lohnes (bagpipes) Ann Whynot, Joel Tranquilla, Lucy Hayes Davis, Mark Himmelman, and Thomas Leslie. Ticket sales went to establish a memorial music scholarship in Allen’s memory. For more information, please call 455-9288 or email concert@eastlink.ca.
