Service to Church and Others The women of the congregation serve the Church in a variety of ways. They organize the Annual Christmas Tea and Sale, provide a light reception after funerals and memorial services, deliver flowers to shut-ins, give financial support to community groups, raise funds for various church projects, and offer members an enjoyable way to work together on behalf of the Church. The Women's Auxiliary meets monthly on the 4th Monday of the month for a business meeting. During the winter months, meetings are held at 1:45 pm at the church and in the spring/fall, meetings are held at member's homes in the evening. The Dorcas group meets at 1:45 pm on Monday afternoons to knit and chat while they enjoy afternoon tea. A Craft Group meets Wednesdays from 1:45-4 p.m. to prepare a wide variety of crafts for the Tea and Sale. The President of the Auxiliary is Judy Whalen and they can be contacted through the Church Office. Visit the Church Parlour where in a corner you will find a cabinet displaying many items the Craft Groups have made that are available for sale. Also, take a look at the Loonie-Book-Nook. Recycled paperbacks are available for just $1! These are both fundraising projects of the Auxiliary. |
