First Baptist Church Halifax extends sincere sympathy to the family and friends of the late Lillian Nicholas. A funeral service took place on Tuesday, January 29th, at 11 a.m. at Atlantic Funeral Home Chapel.
NICHOLAS, Lillian Laura - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lillian Laura Nicholas, 79, of Halifax, on January 26, 2008, in Arborstone Enhanced Care. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Alexander Huge and Etta (Lyons) MacDonald. Lillian had a 25 year career before retiring from MT&T (Aliant). Previous to her Aliant career, she worked in a number of creative and demanding positions. Lillian will be devoutly remembered as a loving parent, a faithful friend and a caring person. She enjoyed every and any family occasion, an energetic and enthusiastic card game, and a real party. She was the family cornerstone. She will be sadly missed by her children, Roy (Lily), Milford; David (Carol), Dartmouth; Michael (Debbie), Timberlea; Deborah (John) Bagdon, Newfoundland; Lee, Halifax; Terry, Victoria, B.C.; Gerald (Tracey), Halifax; Lynn-Michele, Halifax; Robert, Dartmouth; Richard "Seven", Windsor; adopted son, Larry; sister, Edna (William) Munroe, Yarrow, B.C.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred "Bub". Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, January 28, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, in Atlantic Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. Family flowers only, please.
