In Memory of Margaret Stoker

First Baptist Church Haliax extends sincere sympathy to the family and friends of the late Margaret Stoker whose death occured on July 4, 2009 at the age of 102. Margaret was the oldest living member of First Baptist Church and she will be greatly missed.

STOKER (Bailly), Margaret— 102, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at Northwood Centre in Halifax. Born in Lunenburg, she was the only daughter of Harry and Willietta (Curll) Bailly. Margaret was a long-time employee of Dalhousie University. She was also an exemplary volunteer with a number of organizations including the Canadian Paraplegic Association, Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax Seniors Club, and First Baptist Church. A decades-long breast cancer survivor, Margaret has left a legacy of living a full and adventurous life. Her family and numerous friends will miss her dearly. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, James; brothers, George, Earl, and Donald. She is survived by her brother, "Bill"; niece, Suzanne and nephews, Ronald (Elizabeth) and William (Pat); several grandnieces/nephews and great-grandnieces/nephews as well as her Northwood "family" who provided loving care. A service in celebration of Margaret's life will be held in First Baptist Church, Oxford Street, Halifax at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7th with reception following in the church hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Feed Nova Scotia, or the Canadian Paraplegic Association. On-line condolences may be sent through: www.mem.com
