PIPER, Raymond "Ray" — 67, MacPhee's Corner. It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Raymond Piper on June 26, 2009, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Raymond was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Ellen "Rose" (Shafner) Piper and the late Charles A. Piper. Raymond loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping with his beloved wife and family. He was in the RCN for 24 years and a school bus driver for many years. He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth (Lisa), Susan (Dave), Kim; son, Steven (Tracy); stepsons, Vaughn (Juli), Shawn (Lynn), and stepdaughter Michele (Bob); mother, Rose; brother, Charles (Carol); sister, Anne (Ron); brother-in-law, Louis; 16 grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his pet kitty, Tessa. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia; first wife, Tina (Roberts); father, Charles; a grandson in infancy. There will be an open gathering for family and friends, 7-9 p.m. Monday, June 29, with a private family service 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, all in Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie.
