In Memory of Coleman Humphrey

A Funeral Service was held for the late Coleman Humphrey on Tuesday, October 17 at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church Halifax. We extend our sincere sympathy of Coleman's family and many friends.

Humphrey, Coleman - 98. Born in Mercer Settlement, N.B., he was a son of the late A. Herbert and A. Amelia (Coleman) Humphrey (of Mercer Settlement, N.B.). As a young man, Mr. Humphrey worked on the family farm and other farms in the United States and Canada. During the Second World War he served for four years, including Overseas Service with the RoyalCanadian Electrical Engineers. He worked for Chapel's Battery and Electric for 47 years, first in Saint John, and from 1947 until his retirement in 1979, in Halifax. He joined the Masonic Order in June 1930. He was a member of the Keith Lodge No. 17 Masonic Order holding the 33rd Degree, a member of Scottish Rite, a member of the Royal Order of Scotland, a member of the Supreme Council, and a Past Master of No. 105 Composite Lodge, and had received his 70 year Jewel. He was Past Most Wise Sovereign. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Halifax, serving as a Deacon for over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting with his friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Mona Louise (Allwood); brothers, Frank, Arthur, and Albert and sisters, Alice and Gertrude. He is survived by sisters, Reta and Laura; nieces and nephews and their families. The body is resting in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St., Halifax, with visitation 7-9 p.m. Monday, October 16, where a Masonic Service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, in First Baptist Church, Halifax. Reception to follow. The body will be transferred to Sherwood's Funeral Home, Norton, N.B. for visitation from 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, followed by prayers and committal at 3 p.m. Interment in Riverbank Cemetery, Norton, N.B.
