In Memory of Stephanie North

A Celebration of Life Service for the late Stephanie North was held at First Baptist Church Halifax, 1300 Oxford Street, on Tuesday, October 16 at 2:00 p.m. We extend our sincere sympathy to Stephanie's family and friends.

NORTH, Stephanie Patricia - 28, Dartmouth. It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we share the news that the beloved daughter of Alan North, Halifax, and Trish (Davidson) North and stepfather Kevin Shoebridge, Halifax, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at home. Stephanie was larger than life and possessed an incredible spirit of generosity. As we remember Stephanie, words like the following come to mind: charming, brilliant, radiant, sparkling, caring, fun-loving, witty, happy, energetic, leader, compassionate, stylish and beautiful. With a sparkle in her eye and her dazzling smile, Stephanie would instantly light up a room. To know Stephanie was to love Stephanie. Her education began at Sir Charles Tupper School and most recently included studying philosophy at Dalhousie University where she was on the Dean's List. Stephanie had dreams of pursuing a career in law with the desire to help the under privileged and less fortunate. A highlight of her education was a year abroad as a Rotary International Exchange Student in central France. While growing up, her love of music led her to study the recorder and the violin. She also enjoyed dancing, figure skating and swimming. As an award winning Realtor with A & H GMAC, she had a gift for turning clients into friends. Stephanie herself was a precious gift. Those who were privileged to be in her presence will carry her spirit in their hearts always. Stephanie is survived by brothers, Geoffrey (Jessie), Chicago, and Matthew, Halifax; sister, Kimberley, Halifax; grandparents, Donald and Lena Davidson, Debert/Truro; uncles, David North, Halifax; Frank (Linda) Davidson, North Carolina; cherished niece, Katie, Chicago; goddaughters, Desiree and Amelia, Charlottetown, and numerous cousins. She was predeceased by grandparents, Murray and Margaret North (Halifax), and uncle, Greg North (Halifax). Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors 6-9 p.m. Monday, October 15, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, in First Baptist Church, 1300 Oxford St., Halifax, Rev. John E. Boyd officiating. A reception will follow in the church parlour. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crosbie House Society, 113 Cornwallis Ave., New Minas, NS B4N 3M9 and Mothers Against Drunk Driving. On-line condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com
