HAMILTON, Ruth Amelia - 88, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away Sunday, February 17, 2008, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, surrounded by her family. She was a daughter of the late George L. and Edith G. (Sawler) West. She was born in Ross Corner, Kings Co., and later moved to Grafton with her family. She attended school in Grafton and traveled to Berwick to complete her education there. Ruth and her husband Bob operated a dairy and apple farm in Grafton until moving to Berwick in 1969. Ruth was always an active member of her church and community. In her later years, she resided in Fundy Villa and Grand View Manor, Berwick. Surviving are daughters, Elizabeth Hamilton, Lunenburg; Cathy (Robert) Foley, Centreville; grandsons, Bobby Foley, Nicholsville; Craig Foley, Kentville; sister, Jessie West, Cambridge Station. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert Hamilton; daughter, Bernice Hamilton; son, Jim Hamilton; brothers, James, Bronson and Garnet West; sisters, Elizabeth Finnigan and Cora Roscoe. Visitation for Mrs. Hamilton will take place 7-9 p.m. today in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, NS B0P 1E0 (902-538-9900). Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, in Berwick Baptist Church, 265 Commercial St., Berwick, Rev. Marilyn Rose and Rev. Elizabeth Johnson officiating.
