In Memory of R. Hugh Cameron

First Baptist Church Halifax extends sincere sympathy to the family and friends of the late R. Hugh Cameron whose Memorial Service took place on Tuesday, June 17 at 11 a.m. from Atlantic Funeral Home Chapel on Bayers Road.

CAMERON, Roderick Hugh - 82, passed away on June 12, 2008. Hugh Cameron was born December 15, 1925 in New Glasgow. Hugh joined the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps, and married Marion (Mosher) Cameron in 1952. Postings in Ottawa, Toronto, Borden, and Petawawa, Ont., were interspersed with tours in Egypt and Germany. Hugh worked in the pharmacies of local Halifax hospitals and Lawton’s Drugs from the 1970s through to retirement in 1990. During those and recent years, Hugh played violin in the Chebucto Symphony Orchestra, as well as enjoying T’ai chi and bridge. Hugh shared his life with his wife, Marion Cameron, Halifax; sister, Helen Campbell, Ottawa; sister, Norma MacDonald, New Glasgow, predeceased; children, Keltie Cameron-Choi, Ottawa; Patricia Cameron, David Cameron and Robert Cameron, Halifax and Shubenacadie; grandchildren, Max, Erica and Jade Cameron, and Charlotte, James and Emily Cameron- Hamilton; sons and daughters-in-law, Francis Choi, Peter Hamilton, Chloe (Coolen) Cameron and Julie Towers. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 17, at 11 a.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Reception to follow. Burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens in Sackville. In tlieu of flowers, donations to charity of one’s choice.
