St. Anne's Anglican Church (Byron)
A friendly community church

The Anglican Church Women (ACW) is an active and vibrant part of our church and all women over 16 years of age are automatically part of this group. Numerous outreach and community support activities are carried out by these women. The following list is an example of how they care not only for our parish but for our world.

The Chancel Guild is responsible for preparing the Sanctuary for all services. This includes responsibility for all hangings, linens and Communion elements.

The Craft group meets several times a month for fellowship and opportunities to work on crafts. The handcrafted items are usually found at the Christmas Bazaar and other A.C.W. events.

The Hostess Group provides hospitality services for the parish. These beverage and food services include special events, funerals and coffee time after church services.

The quilters are a dynamic group of women that meet once a week on Thursday mornings to make quilts and quilted goods. These items are made for sale at A.C.W. events or made to order.

The church library contains books, audio and video cassettes which may be borrowed. A small charge is attached to video rentals with those fees being used to add additional titles to our collections. Fiction and non-fiction works are available for children and adults.

A Bale is prepared, usually twice a year, to be sent to one of our northern parishes. This Bale will contain handmade clothing items and other assorted goods. Residents of Country Terrace Nursing Home receive both birthday cards and Christmas gifts from parishioners of St. Anne's. Brief worship services are also conducted monthly.

Once a month meetings provide for fellowship and a number of activities such as: knitting and crocheting items for nursing home residents; and collecting postage stamps for Save the Children Fund.
