St. Anne's Anglican Church (Byron)
A friendly community church

St. Anne's Youth Group is an organization active within the parish for young people ages 12 to 19 to gather to share in Christian fellowship. St.A.Y. offers the opportunity for the youth to gather in a supportive and sharing Christian community. Activities include basketball, swimming, baseball, supportive discussions, service and a whole lot more!!!! Meetings are usually held weekly, often on Sunday evenings. Please check the schedule for details.

The spirit of St. Anne's young people encompasses the enthusiasm and the zest of the future of St. Anne's Church. Christian education is provided through a programme based upon an up-to-date Anglican curriculum adapted to pertinent age levels.

Sunday School classes are led by dedicated volunteer teachers that nurture St. Anne's young people in an atmosphere filled with fun: a Christian environment in which they can make new friends.

We run a nursery for 3 year-olds and under at ALL 10:00 a.m. services. Our Nursery is a clean bright room located at the top of the stairs in the Parish Hall.

We have classes every Sunday of the month at the 10:00 a.m. services from September to June, for young people aged 3 to Junior High age. On the first and third Sundays of the month, children will begin with a short worship service in the Parish Hall before beginning their class activities. On the second and fourth Sundays, the children will begin with Sunday School and come to church later for Communion. TAC-Talking about Christianity is our weekly Sunday program for High School aged youth. It's a great way to spend an hour on a Sunday morning.

Several times a year, we get together as a Sunday School family. All classes join in seasonal activities, service projects or theme fun. A special Christmas service in December, involving all classes, is presented by the Sunday School. Truly, one of the highlights of the Advent season.

During the summer months(late June till mid-September), a summer Sunday school is held during the 10:00 a.m. services. After a children's focus in the church, children are welcome to either stay in church or join others in a supervised activity in our Parish Hall where the children watch an appropriate video and are engaged in a related activity. Come and join us!!

Volunteers are always welcome!

If you have children who are ready for first communion (approx. 6 to 9 years) and would like to have them take part in this program, please contact the church office in February.

The classes are scheduled each year to take place during the season of Lent, in order for participants to receive their First Communion in a special Service of Lights on the Saturday before Easter.

The preparation of young children for First Communion this past year was on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The program includes class time and also home study and is organized by a lay team of leaders with support from clergy.
