News of St. Anne’s Sunday School
A Message from your Sunday School Coordinators
Sunday School is back in full force and what a busy fall we have had so far!
Living Peace
Our theme of ‘Personal Peace’ has been exciting, and ultimately rewarding, as the children are learning the Lord’s Prayer. You may find this surprising, or wonder why the kids haven’t learnt this prayer by now, after all it’s ‘said’ at each service every Sunday. It is our hope that our Sunday School actually ‘lives’ this beautiful and peaceful prayer and NOT just ‘say’ it, or ‘learn it’. How many times as adults do we just ‘do’ and not know why we do things?? We don’t want this to happen to our Sunday School with a prayer so sacred. Thanks to our wonderfully creative and gifted teachers, the kids are being introduced to the Lord’s Prayer through art and crafts, skits, word puzzles and song. They are analyzing the prayer and asking questions…it’s wonderful!!! Look at their faces next time they are in church and watch their eyes dance when they ‘live’ this prayer with all of us!
Pinwheels for Peace
What an exceptional day we had for this event!!! The pinwheels were beautifully designed with thought provoking views of peace. We raised close to $80.00 with your generous donations that will go directly to Daily Bread. Thank you for your support!
Teachers
As we have mentioned above…we have gifted teachers at St. Anne’s! Enrollment is growing and we can now expand to 3 full classes. We welcome our teachers for this term:
• Wayne and Bill (jk/sk/grade 1)
• Denise and Elizabeth (grade 2-4)
• Allison and Sara (grade 5-7)
If you are interested in joining our team for Units 3 or 4 focusing on World Peace and Heroes of Peace, please let us know – join the fun!
