Vestry 2008
Vestry 2008 introduced a year of welcoming and vestry members passed the following motions:  As the year unfolds you will be updated and encouraged to participate in their implementation.

Motion #1 -,A.C.W. motion from 2007 revisited and presented by original mover and seconder: “it is requested that the St. Anne’s Newsletter be changed from eleven issues a year to a minimum of six issues a year.”  The motion was then brought to a vote.  The motion passed with seven opposed and one abstention.

Motion #2 – It was moved by Michael J. and seconded by Robin S. that we carry on with the Western Fair project for another year,  The motion then passed with one abstention.

Motion #3 - It was moved by Michael J. that 10% of the profit of the 2007 Western Fair project be donated to charity at the discretion of the parish council.  Seconded by Judith B. and carried.

Motion #4 (as outlined in the Rector’s report)– Paul M. moved the motion to make 2008 a year of welcoming and support our welcoming/newcomers team in taking initiatives to develop this ministry at St. Anne’s.  Seconded by Keith B. and carried.

Motion #5 (as outlined in the Rector’s report with a minor adjustment)- Richard A. moved that this vestry approve the formation of a small task force which includes in its membership our St.A.Y. youth leader, the youth and invites our TAC leader, to look at youth ministry and provide parish council by June 2008 with specific recommendations on directions for youth ministry at St. Anne’s.   The task force would disband when their objectives are met.  Seconded by Jane A. and carried.  

Motion #6 (as outlined in the Rector’s report) – Suzanne A. moved that in 2008 parish council finish compiling detailed job descriptions of our various committees, ministries, and groups and make these descriptions easily available to parishioners.  Seconded by Keith B. and carried.

At Vestry the wardens identified  these areas where help is needed:
•job descriptions and contracts
•health and safety
•the management of keys
•the need for vital records to be kept in a fire proof cabinet or what records should be sent to the archives
•improve signing authorities on bank accounts
•written procedures
•asset management
•prepare a risk report for parish council
•parish hall and church not being kept as neatly as they should
