Children and Holy Play
Jesus, as reported in Matthew 19, Verse 14, says "Let the little children come to me and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs. The bedrock of St. Peter's is hospitality. The cornerstone of our faith community is throwing open our doors in welcome. When we say 'All are Welcome', we truly mean that, and that includes people of all races, nationalities, education and economic backgrounds, sexes and ages.
Children are ALWAYS WELCOME at St. Peter's.
we have three options available for children.
1. Children are welcome to remain with their parents in the church, and are encouraged to pick up a canvas Church School bag that contains activities and colouring pages that coincide with the readings of the day.
2. Children are encouraged to engage in holy play in the back of the church in the "soft toys" area, where thye can bring their parents and still remain in the church and participate in worship.
3. Children who wish to engage in holy play with or without their parents are welcome to play downstairs in our newly constructed "nursery nook" where they will be supervised by appropriately trained and screened volunteers.
We, as a church community, feel that by providing options for children, especially infants and toddlers; parents, children and parishioners will receive the most comfortable and appropriate worship experience that they can.
Whether you worship with your children in the church, or your children worship separately through holy play downstairs, all are encouraged to come and worship with us at St. Peter's Anglican Church in Dorchester.
