Ashamed

2 Timothy 2:16

AWANA theme song:

Firmly AWANA stands, led by the Lord's commands;

 "Approved workmen are not ashamed," boys and girls for His service claimed!

Hail! AWANA! On the march for youth; Hail!  AWANA!  Holding forth the truth;

Building lives on the Word of God; AWANA stands!

Our Savior following with steps unfaltering, and love unaltering, His praise we sing;

His banner over us, in service glorious, We'll fight victorious for Christ our King!

Youth on the march!

A note from the Pastor,

Dear Parents:

For our children today it would seem that they are living in a world of uncertainty and bad news. The term Bad news has become a collopuialism to describe our era and we as parents sometimes find it hard to help our children understand the world they are living in.

So why is there so much bad news? Its simple sin. The bad news on the larger scale is only multiplication of what is occurring on an individual level. The power that makes for bad news is sin.

So with so much bad news, around us, can there really be any good news? The Answer for our children and ourselves is YES, and sin can be dealt with through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is in God's Son and His Word that we find not just the answers to the bad news of today but the ways inwitch we can face them with real hope.

Paul wrote in Romans 5:20b "Where sin increased Grace increased all the more" It is in God's Love and care that we can help instill in the lives of our Children through Awana, the positive answers to life, through memory verses, book time and activities that speak to your child at the age level that they are.

Yes sometimes our World does seem to be out of control, but Awana offers you the parents a program that is age specific for your child that instils discipline, training, co-operation, fellowship and pride in our Country.

Ever wonder why we learn so many Bible verse's at Awana?

7 Reasons for Memorizing Scripture 7 Reasons for Memorizing Scripture

  1. It is food for the soul. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4).
  2. It helps us to know and love God.Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind (Matthew 22:37a).
  3. It protects our hearts and minds from sin. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee (Psalm 119:11).
  4. It helps us pray with confidence. If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you (John 15:7).
  5. It is filled with God's promises to believers. One example is: I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee (Hebrews 13:5).
  6. It helps us witness to unbelievers. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. (1 Peter 3:15).
  7. It helps us to love and encourage others. And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works (Hebrews 10:24).
