Translation Needs

• Bible translation work is a tedious and long process which takes between 15 and 17 years. Bible Society of Kenya would like to shorten the time it takes to complete a translation project. A translation project typically has 3 full time translators. With the exception of the New Kikamba and Lukakamega-Lutrichi which have 2 computers each other translators have to share 1 computer amongst three translators. This situation greatly impacts the time it takes to complete a translation project. Bible Society of Kenya welcomes donation of Pentium 4 desk top or laptop computers for translation projects. The need is for a total of 8 computers.
• Bible Society of Kenya has tabulated the cost of translating a single verse at about Kshs 130 or roughly US$ 2. Bible Society of Kenya welcomes you to partner in translating Scriptures as the Lord may enable you.
