King Cove is a “Class A” city in the Aleutian East Borough district of Alaska’s Aleutian Peninsula. With a population of approximately 800 residents, and an additional 400-600 seasonal cannery workers employed at Peter Pan Sea Foods, this rural village is situated on an area of land that covers approximately 25 square miles. We are located at the end of the peninsula landmass, more than 600 miles from Anchorage.
A commercial fishing community , King Cove has a police department, a volunteer fire department, a state-of-the-art clinic, and a brand new school.
Transportation in and out of King Cove is mainly via plane or hovercraft or fishing boat through our nearest “hub” city, Cold Bay. Peninsula Airways (PenAir) provides airline service to and from King Cove. Other modes of transportation include the Alaska State Ferry from Homer. King Cove Bible Chapel began as a non-denominational, Bible-instructed fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ. The chapel was officially planted on August 8, 1955 from the work begun by Mary Light, a Baptist missionary ministering through the Slavic Gospel Association.
We believe in these fundamental truths:
- The verbal, plenary inspiration of all Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16)
- That the pure, preserved Word of God for English-speaking people is contained in its entirety in the King James Bible (Psalm 12:6-7)
- The deity of Jesus Christ (1 John 5:7)
- The virgin birth of Jesus Christ (Isaiah 7:14)
- The substitutionary atonement of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 5:11)
- The physical death, bodily resurrection, and physical return of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)
That salvation is by grace through faith apart from any works of man (Ephesians 2:8-9)
