---Tithe and Offerings
"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this , "says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgate of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough to receive it." - (Malachi 3:10 NIV)
Unfortunately, far too many preachers, ministers and churches have misused this scripture for anything but God's purpose. Understand that this scrioture is wriitten as a rebuke to the Priest who were misusing the tithes and offerings for their personal gain and who were not bringing all of the tithes and offerings into the storehouse and as a result God was not able to blessed them with more than they could receive, if they were being good stewards over the tithe and offering giving by the people. Bottoim line the tithe was givven to support the life of the community of faith, not to make the priest rich.
So, it is important that you cast not your pearls before swine or keep giving to churches or ministries that are misusing the tithes and offerings given by the people of God to support the life of the local community of faith and the mission of the church.
What's A Tithe?
It is a tenth or 10% of your income presented to the local church in support of the local church ministry for (1 Widows, (2) Orphans, Sojourners/Stangers and Ministers. Offerings are given to support the local, regional, national or international ministry of the church.
This is the model that we follow and our leaders are responsible for making sure tat all of the tithes and offerings are brought int the storehouse for a very specific reason... that there may be food in my house. We have very specifics uses for the tithe and offerings given by members of Christ Universal Church: "When you have finished setting aside the tenth of all your produce in the third year, the year of the tithe, you shall give it to the Levite, the alien, the fatherless and the widow, so that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied" (Duet 26:12 - NIV).

- 80% - Ministries
- 10% - Savings
- 10% - Ministers

What About Offerings?
Here is a New Testament expample... "And selling their possessions and goods they gave to anyone as he had need..." (Acts 2:42-47)
What is the purpose for tithes and offerings? So that we can impact the Church (individiuals members) who in turn will impcat our world with the love of Christ.
"I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not casts or lose it's fruit," says the Lord Almighty." (Malachi 3:12)
