TO KEEP THE MAIN THING - THE MAIN THING IN 2008
To Make Christlike Disciples in the Nations" is the mission statement of our church denomination. How accurately does this statement describe your life? Your church?
"To Make..." this implies that it is our primary occupation! Is it?
"Christlike..." Can one be more specific and comprehensive at the same time? I don't think so.
"Disciples..." Jesus said "Learn from me," So let's learn to live and love like Him.
"In the nations..." Think global and act local is not a new idea but still the most relevant.
Our District Mission in Alabama North is "To make Christlike disciples in Alabama."
How well did you do in 2007?
Let's remember "to keep the main thing, the main thing in 2008!"
-N. Greg Rickey, District Superintendent
Greetings Pastors & Churches,
Pray for the churches that are in the Pastoral Search Process: Gardendale, Huntsville Twickenham, New Life - Hanceville, and Steele. THANK YOU for your prayers for these congregations, that God will lead and guide them in their search for a pastor.
Pastor Tim Estus wants to give the Lord a big shout for a great day Sunday! In their morning service they received 4 new members, all by profession of faith. Also, Sunday evening they had a wonderful baptismal service with 19 (yes, 19!) folks being baptized. They had a great time and give God all the credit. He is truly at work at Union Hill and pastor and people feel very blessed to be a part of it. GOOD NEWS AROUND THE DISTRICT
The 4 that joined the church were:
Gene Ledbetter
Sharon Ledbetter
Frank Jones
Tracy Jones

HISPANIC NEW STARTS - Church Planting
Rev. Leonel Alavarado has registered three Hispanic New Starts that were launched from Bible Studies. They are
B'ham Center Point Iglesia del Nazareneo - Pastor Luis Arguedas
Huntsville Alpha Y Omega Iglesia del Nazareno - Pastor Vincente Osorio
Ft. Payne Iglesia del Nazareno - Pastor Edgar Joj
We congratulate the following churches who are sponsoring these Hispanic New Starts and have given them keys to their church facilities to use them to build their Hispanic congregations. One author said, "You are not being good stewards of your church buildings and facilities unless you pack them out 7 days a week." May God continue to show us as pastors and laborers how to be better stewards of our present church facilities in order to win others. We congratulate the sponsoring churches & pastors for the faith and vision to birth these new congregations:
Birmingham Center Point - Pastor David Edwards & congregation
Huntsville Calvary - Pastor Ralph Brown & congregation
Briarwood Ft. Payne - Pastor Tim Davis & congregation
