WANT A LOVE RELATIONSHIP THAT LASTS? Want to feel secure and significant in a relationship? To matter to somebody for who you are, not for what you do? To have somebody there for you no matter what? To know a love that won't suffocate under stress? |
|
Suppose, then, you received a letter that said,
Well, Someone you may not know yet has written you such a love letter.
He is God, His letter is the Bible, and He wants a personal relationship with you.
His love is yours for the taking. It can be as simple as A-B-C.
Acknowledge you want a relationship with God and that your sin prevents your having that relationship. All have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious ideal (Romans 3:23). For the wages of sin is death, but the [free] gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23). Jesus said, "Look! I have been standing at the door and I am constantly knocking. If anyone hears me calling him [her] and opens the door, I will come in and fellowship with him [her] and he [she] with me"
(Revelation 3:20).
Believe God loves you so much that He sent his Son, Jesus, to serve your sentence for violating His laws. Believe Jesus alone can forgive your sins and give you abundant, eternal life. God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it (John 3;16-17). God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). If you tell others with your own mouth that Jesus Christ is your Lord, and believe in your own heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in his [her] heart that a [wo]man becomes right with God; and with his [her] mouth tells others of his [her] faith, confirming his [her] salvation (Romans 10:9-10).
Commit yourself to a relationship with Jesus, trust Him, choose His way, and experience His transforming love in your life. To all who received him, he gave the right to become children of God. All they needed to do was to trust him to save them (John 1:12). Trust in the Lord completely.... In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success (Proverbs 3:5-6). Jesus said, "My purpose is to give life in all its fullness" (John 10:10).
| If you're ready to begin a personal relationship with God, tell Him so in prayer. When you do this, God promises you a love relationship that even death can't destroy. And please tell the person or church who gave you this about your decision. |
