The beautiful white mantel of snow covered the scenery as I left Belgium to go back home after three months of traveling in ministry. Winter has come and Christmas is getting close. It is so good to be back home in
my cosy little apartment and to remember the beautiful things that the Lord has done during the past months.
This summer, I have been very busy making a DVD together with Nathanael Verhaeghe, a young Christian studying media. A few years ago, God put on my heart to use various types of media to share the Gospel. There are many people that one can talk with and pray with but would never enter a church. However, if they could hear the message of the Gospel in their own home, perhaps they would make a decision for Christ. For this purpose, I have prepared this DVD « If He did it for me… ». This presents the message of salvation and healing. It is available in both French and English.

In September, I had the privilege to minister in Switzerland. One night, an elderly man came to the service. He had been stabbed by his girlfriend just a few weeks before. Everybody thought he would die, but against all hope, he survived and was slowly recovering. Not only was this experience hard on him physically but also emotionally. That night he heard the gospel, how Jesus wanted to have a living relationship with him. He came for prayer to give his life to Jesus. He became so excited about this good news that he came to every service more than an hour in advance to hear more about Jesus. Even the expression on his face had changed !
In the same place, I prayed for a lady who was dying. The next day, she was sitting on her bed eating breakfast. Praise the Lord!
Later in September and October, I was ministering in Belgium and Northern France. In almost all the churches, people came to Jesus. In Charleville-Mézière in the north east of France, in spite of opposition, nine people, including two children, came forward to give there lives to Jesus. A little eight year old girl came with a neighbour. She heard that, like Zacheus, Jesus was knocking at the door of her heart. The next day, she brought her little friend and at the altar call they both came for prayer to give their lives to Jesus.
In a service in Brussels I preached a message of encouragement to believers. I felt somewhat disappointed that there were no unbelievers present. Two weeks later, however, I received this testimony. One man had returned home and told his little boy how I had given my life to Jesus when I was six. The little boy asked if he could do the same. He prayed a prayer of repentance. His father testified of the change in his little boy’s life, that he had become calm and gentle. God’s work is often bigger behind our back than in front of our eyes.
In Frameries, Belgium, during the last service on Sunday morning, about 12 or 15 unsaved people and backsliders came forward to make a commitment to the Lord. I was thrilled. God is so good and faithful!
December will be a little quieter with only one week-end in Paris area and one week in a youth camp. But I have some many things to do that I can only do when I am not traveling.
One of the best testimonies for me this year is the testimony of my brother. He was away from God for quite while. In the beginning of this year, he went back to a church close to the barracks where he works as a non-commissioned officer. There, he was deeply touched by the Lord and got involved in the church. In that church also, he met a beautiful young girl named Sandy. They got engaged in July in Quebec. And now, they will get married in January in Belgium. The whole family is very happy for them.
May the Lord bless them and guide them along the path of life.
We were also glad to celebrate my grand mother’s eightieth birthday. She doing very well and is in excellent health. Happy Birthday Grandma. I love you very much. Your support and encouragement are also very precious to me. God bless you.
