Welcome to the SCMBC's Black Angels and Angeletts page! We are a praise dance team that is truly doing it God's Way. We believe that dancing in not a competition, but a way we can express our love and gratitude to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The Black Angels started back in 2001 by one of our primary sunday school classes. What started out as a 'lil' presentation' became a huge sensation! Under the leadership of Sis. Leontynne Scott and Sis. Teresa Scott they developed into more than just 6 young girls dancing in a simple formation....They developed into the Black Angels!!
Shortly after Sis. Leslye Bennett joined in to be the choreographer the size of the Black Angels grew. Late 2001 Sis. Leontynne Scott moved to Atlanta, GA and left Sis. Teresa Scott as Director and Sis. Leslye Bennett as Asst. Director/ Choregrapher.
As the size grew the dances became more complicated and during this some of the younger girls felt left out, but that's when another bright idea popped up! In 2002 The SCMBC Angelettes were formed and it was also a huge sucess! Both praise dance teams have traveled throughout Pine Bluff, surrounding areas, and even Texas to spread the gospel through dance.
This is a ministry that this church truly cherishes. It's a beautiful thing to see young people coming together for good. Remember, Matt 19:14 says, "Suffer the little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."
