The Epistle to the church at Ephesus speaks of five "office gifts" that are given to the Body of Christ for a specific time and a specific purpose. This article is not to explain each gift but to show that the five-fold ministry gifts are the purpose of God for this season. How these gift operate in the church specifically is not the purpose of this article but this article is an overview of the five-fold. I will also show the terms referring to the fivefold, the frequency of use in the scriptures, the purpose of these gifts, how long these gifts are to be in operation and the results of flowing in the five-fold. At Faith on Fire Church we teach a strong message of Unconditional Love. Here is my testimony of God showing His love towards me! I sat there on the front row of the church with tears streaming down my face. All of my family and friends from all over the country joined me during these most difficult moments of my entire life. My namesake, Rodney Pearson Jr., was the last of my four children to die within 6 years. My baby son Kelly died when a car hit and killed him right outside my church in California during a choir rehearsal. My new born Kenan Pearson died 1 hour after his birth four years after Kelly's death. My 18 year old daughter Gwen died two years after that from respiratory failure. But now just 2 months later I was burying my son. My heart was confused as I tried to rationalize why would God take all four of my children. On this journey through conception you will have labor pains and the enemy of your soul will entice you to abort your Purpose and Destiny. Back in the 70’s, for those of you who remember, music was recorded on a vinyl material and were made into a record called a 45 because they rotated at 45 rpms. The record companies would create the disc shaped product by placing the vinyl in a press to form and shape the disc to its ultimate purpose. I also remember in the 70s as a young lad growing up in the red clay hills of Atlanta, Ga., my mom teaching me how to get wrinkles out of my clothing. She would use a heavy duty electric iron, place the clothing on an ironing board and press out the wrinkles.   more...
