WE BELIEVE

1 Corinthians 15:3-7

3. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. 6. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. 7. After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles.

1 Timothy 3:16

16. And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

God was manifested in the flesh,
Justified in the Spirit,
Seen by angels,
Preached among the Gentiles,
Believed on in the world,
Received up in glory.

WE BELIEVE the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God on which we base our faith, conduct and doctrine. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:21).

WE BELIEVE there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to this earth as Savior of the world. (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30)

WE BELIEVE Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for our sins. We believe Jesus rose from the dead and is coming again. We believe that eternal salvation is found only by placing our faith in Jesus Christ and what he did for us on the cross.  As found in the Word of God: deity of Christ (John 10:33); His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:34-35); His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, 7:26); His miracles (John 2:11); His vicarious and atoning death (1 Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 2:9); His resurrection (John 11:25; 1 Corinthians 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19); His personal return to earth in power and glory. (Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-16)

WE BELIEVE in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature, and that all are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God's grace, through faith alone, are we saved. (John 3:16-19; 5:24; Romans 3:23, 5:8-9; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5)  Subsequently, no man can provide neither intercede the forgiveness of sin; therefore, confession must be made unto God personally.  Since Jesus is our High Priest, it is only through Him that we can recieve the forgivness of sin.

WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are not unto the resurrection of damnation. (John 5:28-29)

WE BELIEVE in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Galatians 3:26-28) Because being a Christian is based on belief and faith in Jesus Christ, not an institution, we do not have membership. All believers are members of the body of Christ; therefore, all are welcome.  We believe the two fold purpose of God's church is to edify and build up believers in the Word of God and the take the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ to the lost.  Additional ministries of the church are: Pastoral care in spiritual needs and Christian living, baby dedication (1 Sam. 1:11, Ps. 127,:3, Eph. 6:4), Hospital visitations, and elders anointing with oil in the name of the Lord and prayer for the sick (James 5:13-18).

WE BELIEVE in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (Romans 8:13-14; 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20; Ephesians 4:30, 5:18);  therefore, by the power of the Holy Spirit every believer should be in a growing relationship with Jesus by obeying God’s Word, yielding to the Holy Spirit and by being conformed to the image of Christ.  We believe that the greatest gift of the Holy Spirit is love and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians. (1 Corinthians 13; 1 John 4:7-21)

WE BELIEVE that the Christian life consists of (but not saved by) actively engaging in bible study, prayer, fellowship, worship, and giving the gospel to the lost as well as in the regular taking of Communion as an act of rememberance and proclaimation of what the Lord Jesus did for us on the cross.  (1 Cor. 11:24-26)  Once saved, a new believer should own a Bible for personal reading; Likwise, be water baptized with the understanding that water baptism is a symbol of the cleansing power of the blood of Christ and an outward testimony to our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and not for salvation. (Rom. 6:1-8, Col. 2:12, Lk. 23:43, 1 Cor. 1:17).
