Welcome!

          First Christian Church of Santa Barbara has been serving in this community since 1888.  We are affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a denomination of close to four thousand churches nationally.   

Our journey of faith leads us to a Christ-centered church, weekly celebrating around the Lord's table the life, death, resurrection and continuing presence of the Son of God.  We offer the opportunity and challenge to all member's, a participation in the life and work of the church's ministries.  We gather together as one body of Christ to glorify God, sharing the good news and nurture one another in spiritual growth. 

As the body of Christ we believe in the need for unity in the Christian community.  Therefore, wherever possible we seek to work together with peoples of other traditions to witness and serve among the whole human family, knowing that Christian unity and Christian mission are inseparable in furthering the work of the kingdom of God.
