Lift Up Christ to All People

Women Ministries

Women Ministries began the New Year with a wonderful Summit presented by our Women Ministries Coach, Trinity Abila. The Lord has gifted Trinity in such a way that she was able to captivate our interest from 9 a.m.-past 3:30 p.m., with a break for a soup and sandwich lunch from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. At 1:00 p.m. our sister churches from Arnold, Murphys and Valley Springs joined us for the remaining afternoon. There was a total of 30 ladies present and we Praise the Lord for the turn-out!

Trinity based the Summit on Hebrews 12:1&2. Chris Thom gave a good speech on that verse using her work as an analogy of "throwing off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." Hebrews 12:1b. We as Women Ministries will follow suit along with our church in using the Five areas of ministry we learned about during the 40 Days of Purpose. They include; Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, Evangelism and Ministry.

Without a team, it would be difficult to get anything accomplished. We are thankful for the gals who signed up and are willing to help serve as our team. I have so much more to share, please call me or ask any of the gals who attended if you are interested and are willing to serve in this most needed ministry. We closed with the verse from Philippians 4:13 "I can do everything through Him Who gives me strength." Thank you to all who attended, we are blessed. And to those who were unable to attend, there will be more opportunities in the future.

Gail Hoffman placed her foot in the water, as of Joshua of old to join me in leadership as Co-Chair of Women Ministries. I am delighted to have her come alongside me, two are better than one. As the Book of Ecclesiates 4:12b states; " A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." So it will be Gail and I in equal positions and our Lord Jesus in the center, three in one accord. Please remember us in your prayers as we serve in this area of ministry for the women in our church and community.

Ladies we are invited to attend a Mini-Retreat on February 29-March 1st. This will be presented by Bayside of Placerville Covenant Church, it will be held at Days Inn in Sutter Creek. For more information the contact # is (530) 626-7288. It is my hope to have a group of us ladies attend together, if that is your thought as well, please call me at 785-2368 of 743-5832. It would be fun to have a group of us attend, a great opportunity to get to know one another better.

On March 9th, Evelyn Rapetti's sister will be joining us for a Potbless after church. She will be sharing with us a Mission Project, for all in our church. So all are invited to attend this time of fellowship, lunch and outreach. Please mark your calendars and plan on attending. More information will be in the bulletin as the time draws nearer to this event.

Anne Heck and our knitters, crocheting ladies, continue to meet on Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m., in the Conference Room. After speaking with her this morning, she said their new project is caps for chemo-kids. These will be given at Easter to children at the Children's Hospital. What a wonderful gift and outreach for these little ones who are fighting cancer.

Speaking of which, in February I will be starting the LOOK GOOD, FEEL BETTER program for cancer patients. We will meet downstairs in the Adult Sunday school room. If you know a cancer survivor or anyone fighting this disease, please contact me or give them my number. This ministry came about after the fall I took at our church last March. Romans 8:28. Praise be unto God!!! A big thank you to our Board of Trustees for allowing me to use our church facilities. This is a great volunteer, outreach program for our community. Thank you.

Londa Oller is leading a Women's Bible Study in the Conference Room on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. This is a take-off from the 40 Days of Purpose, they are studying “The Women of the Bible”. All women are invited to attend.

Shirley Holligan is leading a Women's Bible Study on Wednesday from 12:30-2:00 p.m. also in the Conference Room. These gals are reading through the Bible, at present they are in the Book of Deuteronomy. All women are invited to attend.

If any of you ladies or gents are interested in guiding a Bible Study, I am a coordinator for Stonecroft Ministries and more than happy to get more information on the studies Stonecroft offers. This is a great basic Bible Study and goes in depth as you go along with these studies. The cost for these studies is very affordable. Currently, our follow-up group from the 40 Days is beginning the study using Stonecroft materials, called Knowing God's Will.

While waiting for the gals to join us for Praise Moves, I picked up a book about Eric Liddell (Chariots of Fire). Tim Johnson, saw me reading it, gave me a brief synopsis of the book and said the Youth Group was reading it. I have said and believe for many years, we Christians do not have "luck" we have blessings. As I read about Eric Liddell, the author stated that before each race Eric would go to each runner, shake their hands and wish them his best, it stated he too did not believe in "luck" for us Christians. That' something for us to ponder.

Oops, ladies don't forget Jennifer Scheidt is still doing Praise Moves every Wednesday evening from 6 to 7 p.m.

Have a Blessed New Year!
