Christian Care Lay Ministry

We meet every two or three months to evalutate our list.

Christian Education Ministries

Evangelistic Ministries

Cursillo
Cursillo (a Spanish term, meaning short course) is associated with a 3-day weekend filled with joy, love, and  spiritual growth. This spiritual growth allows each of us a new means for action within our parish, community and nation. Members of the Cursillo community are active in almost all parish organizations, not especially as Cursillo members, but more so to serve God as callled.

The office of National Episcopal Cursillo hosts a web site.

Facilities and Special Services

Trinity's Facilities
Trinty's facilities may be available for non-church use by special arrangement with the vestry.

Altar Flowers
The flowers at the High Altar are given each week by the people of our church either in memory of loved ones or in thanksgiving for special blessings. If you wish to reserve a Sunday for your memorial or special occasion, please call Margaret Lantier the church office. Some dates are already reserved, but there are many openings. Flowers also may be placed in the Mary Chapel.

You will be notified a week in advance of your date and at that time a bill for $50.00 (tax included) will be sent. Flowers for the Mary Chapel are $25.00. The flowers are purchased and arranged by the Altar Guild. After Sunday services, the flowers are fiven to the donor on request. Usually, however, they are made into smaller bouquets to be taken to our shut-ins by the Altar Guild.

St. Jerome's Library
The mission of St. Jerome's Library is to provide resource material for the ministries of Trinity Episcopal Church and for those of us on our personal quest for knowledge of our church and of our faith

St. Jerome's Library is located in Manning Lounge and is open during office hours and weekly services. To check out a book, just sign the card on the inside cover and leave the card in the basket provided on the computer desk. Books can be kept as long as you wish, but please return thme when you are finished so that others can use them.

St. Jerome's Library would like to have reveiwers for the Messenger. There are a lot of philosophical and literary talents in the church, and it would be wonderful to see it shared. You can review a book you have already read and especially liked, or choose one that is already in St. Jerome's.

Trinity Bookshelf
The Trinity Bookshelf is here for parishioners in more ways than one. Not only does it supply wonderful cards, gifts and books for our convenient purchase; it also donates the proceeds back to the church. Like all other ministries within the church, it is run by volunteers. Help is especially needed to run the cash register before and after services. All help is greatly appreciated.

Small Group Ministries

Post-Confirmation Group (PCG)
The 2006 Confirmation Class so enjoyed their study that they have elected to continue to meet post-confirmation. Elizabeth Eagan Cox says, "The Holy Spirit is very much alive at Trinity, and those of us from our class want to join in and contribute to that Spirit. We have unanimously decided to continue meeting on a monthly basis as the Post-Confirmation Group "PCG". The PCG will continue in the spirit fostered and enriched by Father David in support for each of our spiritual journeys. It is our sincere hope that additional post-confirmation parishioners will join us, knowing that in Trinity fellowship all persons are welcomed."
Wednesday Morning Fellowship
This group meets after the Wednesday morning Eucharist.
Thursday Bible Study
Bible Study meets every other Thursday beginning after Labor Day. Two weeks are taken off for Christmas, and the group starts up again in January and goes to June.

Meetings are structured as follows: 7:00pm-7:30pm social; 7:30pm-8:30pm Bible study; 8:30pm-9:00pm (promptly) prayer and administrative details.

Meetings are held in private homes and are rotated every meeting. A new facilitator is also chosen for each meeting. The host/hostess does not usually facilitate.

The only requirement is that you bring a Bible. It does not matter what version you have.

We also pray for healing, guidance, and safety in travel for those on the Sunday Prayers of the People list received through the church office.  We also praise the Lord and give thanks for answered prayers and blessings.

There are no meeting, no dues, and no requirements; just a willingness to pray daily. Would you like to pray with us? All members are confidential and recieve updated prayer lists weekly.

Special Interest/Needs

Drivers
These parishioners drive other church members to services when they have difficulty coming to church by themselves.

Lay Ministries
Lay ministers at Trinity serve three functions:
Lectors read the appointed lessons and lead the Prayers of the People at Eucharist services.
Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEM) serve as chalice bearers at Eucharist services, and may, with the permission of the Rector, lead other public worship services.
Lay Eucharist Visitors (LEV) visit persons who are not able to attend services at the church, and administer Holy Communion to them.

At Trinity, those persons approved by the Rector are generally trained and licensed for all of the above lay ministry functions.
Ushers
Cordial greetings, friendly smiles, service bulletins, alms basins, food baskets, and assistance tot he Chancel steps are all part of the life of the ushers at Trinity.  Add in control of the loading zone, integrating the Church School classes, setting up folding chairs for special services, and removal of the offering of food and personal care items, and one starts to get a picture of the life of an usher. The dedicated corps of ushers offer their services for the Sunday and special services throughout the year. Ushers are a constant at our services.

Eight teams of ushers alternatively serve at all the Sunday worship services. With the help of a number of alternates, service is also provided for other services, including Lenten services, confirmations, funerals and requiems, and other special services.

Greeters
The greeters of Trinity arrive 15 minutes before the services and stand by the lecturn holdings the newcomers and visitors sign-in book. They greet people as they enter the service, inviting newcomers and visitors to sign the book, help answer questions and give directions.
Coffee Servers
On a rotating basis, dedicated individuals serve coffee and other beverages at the cofffee hour following church services. They also do the cleaning up after everyone has gotten their beverage. This entails cleaning out the coffee pots, putting away utensils, coffee cups, tea bags, etc., and folding and putting away table clothes.

Donations of coffee, tea, sugar or any other necessary items would be greatly appreciated.
Trinity Episcopal Acolyte Ministry (TEAM )
The acolytes of Trinity Episcopal Church serve at the altar at all major services, to include regular Sunday Eucharist, special Holy Day events such as Christmas and Easter, and at weddings and funerals.

The acolyte ministry is open to any person, age nine or older. One must be a baptized Christian and attend services on a regular basis in order to serve as an acolyte.

Episcopal Church Women
An organization of women of the who provide support to ministries of the parish and to the mission of the church at large. They invite you to join their Yahoo! discussion group.
Altar Guild
The purposed for serving the parish as Altar Guild members is to serve the Lord. Our guidance and instructions are given to us by the Rector to prepare, serve, and clean the altar at all services. A loving duty in which we all share every week is the arranging of the High Altar Fowers into smaller arrangements to be delivered to our "shut-ins."

Our purpose is to ensure all types of services are completed with love, care, and committment to our parish. The Altar Guild consists of five groups. Each group altenates for one week of service and is responsible for all events within the church for that week. Altar Guild positions are appointed by the Rector.
Chic' Lits
Chic' Lits is a social group for women who love to read books. We also read poetry and watch an occasional movie. Two book sales are held per year to support various parish needs.

Our meetings are on the first Monday of the Month, unless otherwise indicated. Meetings are typically held from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

It is not necessary to read the book that is to be discussed in order to attend.  One needs only the joy of reading.
Daughters of the King
The order was founded in 1885 by Margaret J. Franklin at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in New York City. The mission of the order is the extension of Christ's Kingdom through prayer, service and envangelism.
