General Assembly

Help us, O Lord, to carry our Cross as a sign of devotion to You, and a banner of the victory we have in You!
Our General Assembly was held on May 20 and focused on setting new goals for our Parish. Among the many reports, Dr. Emmanuel Strategos, our Stewardship Chair, inspired us to look beyond the daily needs of the Parish and focus on a vision, on fulfilling the Great Commission of Christ both here locally and abroad. In three to five years we want to be able to cover 100% of the running expenses of the Parish through Stewardship. The Parish Council Members, sharing this vision, are going to aim at offering Christ $1 per week for every $1000 of annual income.
We still want to have our Festival, but the income we would like to
offer back to Christ through missions as we said and beautifying the
Church.
Fr. Joseph will be leading several Pilgrimages to St. Anthony's Monastery this summer. This is an opportunity for us to visit and be strengthened by our brothers and sisters in Christ who are "fighting the good fight" on the front lines of the spiritual battle we have here on earth, and whose heart felt calling is to constantly pray for us in the world. We to can strengthen them through our prayerful pilgrimages, devote prayers, deep respect and gratitude, and generously sharing with them what God has shared with us.
Our first trip will be June 4th through 8th. Lord willing Fr. Joseph will be traveling with Fr. Michael Rome. If you would like to come with us, we will need to find another vehicle and seats.
Lord willing, the next trip will be in July, and then Lord willing in August.
