We enjoyed some excellent, Spirit-filled preaching by Pastor Reed Monday, Pastor Ray Daugherty of Open Door Baptist Church in Reno on Tuesday and Thursday, and Pastor Elbert Rollins of First Baptist Church in Herlong on Wednesday, with Mrs. Rollins singing some lovely hymns for us, as well.
Then came Friday, today. All was set well for the final service, to be preached by Pastor Reed. The solar generator was charging nicely with power for the lights, the weather was cooler. Mrs. Reed had to make a quick run to Doyle to help get a vehicle started , with Andrew McClure, while Pastor Reed and Thomas McClure waited.
At about 6:30, the wind whipped up, and as they began to tighten the ropes on one side, the winds shifted and pulled all the stakes out of the other end. Despite some hard efforts, the tent went down. When Pastor Ray, who owned the tent drove up, we began to take it apart and sent it home with him, and thus ended this year's tent revival. Praise God for His great blessings-no one was hurt, many heard the preaching of the word of God, and many came to the altar to be dealt with by the Lord on those four days of revival.
Wew don't pretend to know all God's ways, but we accept His perfect will, that four days was all He wanted, and we thank Him for that.
