Bible Baptist Church's Mission Field

When we think of a mission field, we generally think of a missions work in a foreign land, in a third-world country or some such, or maybe in deepest, darkest Africa. However, every church in every country, including here, has a mission field. Some are in the middle of a great city-center like San Diego, CA or Chicago,Ill, while some are more rural, like you might find in many smaller towns like Hopewell, VA or Valentine, Nebraska. And like these, we have a mission field here in Herlong, and wanted to share a few pictures of that mission field to give people an idea of what we are seeking to do here, and where we do it. Most of these pictures are from the area of Fish Springs, in northern Washoe County, beyond Turtle Mountain.

This is our mission field, friends. The numbers are not large, but the scope, as you see, is vast-A lot of hard work, with only a small pay-off, as it were, but such riches in heaven! And such a great hope of glory for the Lord to reach anyone, be it in a large city or in a small town, or even in the vast, seeming emptiness that we call home. Some in the past have asked me, "Why did you come HERE?" These pictures are why-the Lord sent me here to reach such as these. And this is just a small sampling of the harvest to be gathered in this area. There are many more miles with homesteads scattered here and there to be travelled and reached for the Lord, but the laborers, as in Jesus' time, are woefully few. Pray the Lord of that harvest that He will send workers into the fields of Herlong and Doyle and beyond!
