First, before you can be saved, you must understand that you are LOST! The Bible tells us, in Romans 3:10;"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one", and in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God". Because of sin, which separates man from God, we are lost, without hope of our own making, doomed to an eternity in a very REAL Hell. There is no work we can do that is so good, that we can earn Heaven. There is no man, save Jesus Christ, Himself, who can live so perfect a life, that he can hope to escape Hell on their own. In Isaiah 64:6, it is told "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."  The best works we can do, the purest lives we can live, without God's salvation, is like filthy rags. Imagine trying to pay your way into the finest, most exclusive country club, by handing the manager a handful of filthy, stinky rags, stained with the most disgusting things you could imagine-you would never try! Yet, many try to get into Heaven with that very same, offensive payment!

But, don't panic! There's hope! Jesus made a way for us to enter into Heaven, and we don't have to pay a thing, because it is a completely FREE gift! 2000 years ago, when Jesus died on the cross, He died in our place, He bore our sins, and suffered in our place, so that we don't have to! Romans 5: 7,8 says: "for scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Jesus Christ, the Messiah, God the Son, left behind His glory in Heaven, and became a man, with the sole purpose of dying on the cross, and took our sins upon Himself, so that we had the opportunity to receive salvation. He did the work, because we couldn't!  Romans 4:4, 5 tells us "Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness"  So, we are lost, without hope on our own, but since Jesus died for us, took our sins, we can be saved. You see, because we are sinners, there is a price to be paid, which is death-and not just physical, but eternal separation from God, Romans 6:23 says, :For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" So, we choose either death, or salvation, eternal life, through Jesus, who said,  in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father, but by me".He is the only way-But, you say, How?!?!?  Quite easy, really! Romans 10:13 says "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved"  And also, Romans 10: 8-10: "But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." 

So, there it is, nice and easy! Understand you're a sinner, headed for Hell, but you can be saved, if you believe in your heart that Jesus died for you, and was raised from the dead, repent, of your sins, and ask for that salvation, and you will be saved! It isn't in some magic words, or some great works-just believe and ask, confess you're a sinner, repent, or turn from your sins, turn to Jesus, and ask for the FREE GIFT of salvation. Easy, huh? So now, the ball is in your court: What will you do with Jesus? Accept unto eternal life, or reject, and face an eternity in Hell, with no hope of reprieve or pardon. Your Choice. 

If you would like to be saved, and you truly believe, as best as you can, that Jesus can, and will save you, you can do it right now! Do you believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Messiah? Do you believe that He died for you as the Bible says, and that He was raised from the dead? Then admit you are a sinner to God, tell HIM that you believe, repent of your sins, and ask for that eternal life now! Then, put your faith into practice-Jesus said, "Deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me"-follow him! I won't give you some magic prayer-you know now what He expects-go to Him for salvation: not Mary, not your priest or the pope-go right to Jesus Christ for eternal life, and thou shalt be saved!

So, you've said the prayer, and you're a Christian, and you wonder, "What do I do now?"  I'll answer this very easily for you. First, find a good, Independent, Fundamental Baptist church. Why this type, you wonder? Well, the term, "fundamental" merely means, that we believe in the fundamentals of the faith- the bottom-line things, like salvation by faith, (what you just did), the Deity of Jesus, (Jesus is God), the virgin birth of Jesus, eternal security of salvation, (once saved, always saved), and that sort. So, find one, talk to the Pastor about your salvation experience, and let him know you want to be baptized. Simply, Baptism is the first comand given to the new Christian-it is an outward witness to your salvation, showing, symbolically, the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Then, after you are baptized, you will be a member of that church. Now, GET INVOLVED! Go to service, find a job in the church, even janitorial, and do it for the Lord. Tell others about what Jesus did for you, how he saved your soul. This is the Great Commission, when Jesus said, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Get a Bible and read it. Pray daily, and seek God's will in your life. Simply put, in all of these things-live for Christ! And listen to your pastor-he's a smart guy, who is led by the Lord.  Thats it! Get in church, get baptized, and get involved.  See you in Heaven!

As for repentance, when you were saved, you repented, or turned from your sins, in your heart. Now is the time to do it in life. Through the teaching and preaching in your church, reading your Bible, and prayer, you will disciver things in your life that are unpleasing to God. Repentance now means turning away from those things, to live a life pleasing to your Saviour. Don't worry-the Lord will give you the heart and desire, and the strength to turn away from them.
