Bethlehem Lutheran Ministries
Church of Follow the Star

A balanced life begins by "growing up" in love for God through worship, prayer and the study of His Word. As we love Him we are also to love His people and grow in fellowship, forgiveness and community with one another. The other part of a balanced life is to love others by serving them and sharing the gospel of God's love with them.

Our family together at Bethlehem and we as individuals must strive for this balance as God gives us the grace and courage to live our lives in the 21st century.

Since starting out as a store-front church in Canyon Country in 1964, we have envisioned being a church that could meet the needs of the people in the community we serve. Now located on Luther Drive in Canyon Country, we've been able to meet many needs through our school, our variety of worship services and events like our drive-through Christmas pageant "Follow The Star," and our annual Christmas concert, "Jam For Jesus."

Bethlehem Lutheran Ministries has been part of the Santa Clarita Valley for forty six years and has dreams to continue to impact this community for Christ for the next forty. We are located at 27265 Luther Drive in Santa Clarita, California.

As a congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod and with the Universal Christian Church, Bethlehem Lutheran teaches and responds to the love of the Triune God: the Father, creator of all that exists; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan; and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God's Word and Sacraments. The three persons of the Trinity are coequal and coeternal - one God.

We believe and teach the historic Christian faith, as presented in...
THE BIBLE
THE THREE ECUMENICAL CREEDS The Apostles' Creed, The Nicene Creed and The Athanasian Creed
THE LUTHERAN CONFESSIONS

THE APOSTLES' CREED
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

We accept the Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th Century - summarized in three short phrases: Grace alone, Faith alone, Scripture alone.

GRACE ALONE... God loves the people of the world, even though they are sinful, rebel against Him and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His son, to love the unlovable and save the ungodly.

FAITH ALONE... By His suffering and death as the substitute for all people, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for them. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have eternal life. God creates faith in Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him.

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

SCRIPTURE ALONE... The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.
All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)
