PURGED TO SHINE; AFLAME TO CONQUEROur redemption in Christ is a plus in every area of our life. Without Christ, sin made our life ugly to God and irritating to others. It made us slaves to damnable habits, paralyzing fear, evil diseases and wicked spirits. In Christ we are pardoned and purged to live a shinning, radiant life; we are liberated from the dominion of sin, sickness, Satan and his defeated spirit-helpers. We have received the power to win and conquer in every trial and temptation as we journey to Heaven.
1.THE POTENTIAL OF A SAVED SOUL1Cor.5:17; Romans 5:9; Colossians 2:14
The moment we put our faith in Christ, the war between us and God is permanently over. Our moral guilt before God, which created a barrier of enmity between us and God, and which sent Jesus to the cross, is removed once and for all when we receive His gift of justification
We are redeemed to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. We have the potential to be exactly like Christ in virtues. Sin has no dominion over us; Satan has no claim over our life; sickness has no right in our bodies; setbacks or failure has no place in our endeavours. We are destined to live as kings and priest unto God;reigning in life over circumstances.
You become a beneficiary of this great potential through genuine repentance and faith in Christ atonement.
2.THE PROFITS OF A SANCTIFIED HEARTEzekiel 36:25-27; Phil. 2:14-16
What Jesus accomplished on the cross for us is incredible to the human mind! He saves us from the penalty of sin, the power of sin and the presence of sin in our heart. Consequently, we received the divine nature of God. Now, we can truly represent God in purity of heart and holiness of life-shinning in the beauty of His holiness.
What a privilege! We can enjoy freedom from inner struggle (Rom.6:22); greater ability to overcome temptations and sin (Rom6:14); greater power and effectiveness in prayer (1John 3:21); fitness and usefulness in God's service (2Tim.2:20); a radiant, transparent life that draws others to Christ (Matt. 5:14-16); readiness and fitness for heaven (1John3:1-3).
With unquenchable hunger for purity, personal consecration and earnest, persevering prayer of faith you can become purged from the root of sin.
3.THE POSSIBILITIES OF A SPIRIT-FILLED LIFEActs 1:8; 2:1-4; Joel 2:28, 29
Our privileges in Christ are not limited to shinning with virtues. We must be empowered and set aflame to conquer for Christ. This spiritual power is made manifest in us and through us when we are baptized with the Holy Spirit. This supernatural power of God takes control of our personalities and transforms us into living proofs of divine ability. It produces in us spiritual earnestness which destroys every form of weakness and weariness in spiritual things. We are set aflame for God!
How earnest and fervent the hundred and twenty disciples became after the reception of this power! It was an infilling of power for Christian service. How we need this power in prayer, in preaching, in teaching, and in rendering Christian service for others!
We need this spiritual power to conquer all satanic plans, face challenges, banish discouragements and depression, handle disappointments and temporary failure and wave ,triumphantly, through suffering and sorrows of life.
With right motives, strong desire, fervent prayer and persistent faith the power shall be ours.
