About Us
We believe first and foremost that life in Jesus Christ
should be joyful, full of laughter. Despite life’s many pressing challenges, faith
in Christ gives us hope and an attitude of gratitude, essentials for a life
that truly is LIFE (1 Tim 6:19).
Genesis is hard to label. We are Presbyterian, but for many
people that word is foreign, not to mention hard to spell. We are in many ways
an ancient/future church. What does that mean? Well, we’re 20 years old, which
is new compared to many churches, but we’re also not a brand new creation.
We’ve got some history and some seasoning! We’re also ancient/future in that we
love many of the traditions and the history of the Christian church, including
the great old hymns, yet we feel called to offer the gospel of Jesus Christ
within our contemporary understanding, through various styles of worship, and
with an energy and relevance for daily life.

Genesis revolves around the person of Jesus Christ, continually reminded of the high adventure Christ promises all who would journey with Him. We encourage growth and service in one another, circling again and again around the One who brought us this far along our respective paths, and yet has further for us to go. We outfit disciples with an authentic sense of Christ’s challenges, as well as the amazing grace that accompanies us along the Way.
