Welcome to Saint Peter's Episcopal Church! The Rev. Everett "Perry" Perine, Rector 30 Church St.Hebron, CT 06248(860) 228-3244
Serving the communities of Andover, Bolton, Colchester, Columbia, Coventry, East Hampton, Hebron, Lebanon, and Marlborough, Connecticut Where ordinary people are doing extraordinary things. Our purpose is to provide information, help and inspiration to Internet explorers. We hope you'll find features that will make you want to bookmark our site as a favorite location. If you're looking for a church home, we'd love to have you become part of our parish family. If you're already an active member of a church, then we ask for your prayers as we try to make the Good News of Jesus Christ known to those who travel through cyberspace. Organized in 1734, we have a long and wonderful history — and yet we’re a modern, active congregation, with all of the worship, programs, and activities you would expect to find in any Episcopal church. We have a flourishing Sunday School, adult Christian education programs, Bible discussion and study, retreats, quiet days, fellowship groups, prayer groups, and a long list of activities that reach out to people in need. Welcome!
Community Outreach/Events The Hartford Symphony Orchestra will be bringing a concert of Russian classics to RHAM High School on Friday, March 30th. The concert, “From Russia with Love” is sponsored by and will benefit three local organizations: AHM Youth and Family Services Children's Trust Fund, the Hebron Jr. Women's Club, and the RHAM Education Foundation. Information on tickets prices and forms for ordering tickets are on the table at the back of the church. Information can also be found on the three sponsoring organizations web sites. Blood Drive – The Red Cross will be holding a Blood Drive on Tuesday, February 28th from 1-6 p.m. in Phelps Hall. Please consider a donation. It is a painless cost-free way to make a very special gift. One donation benefits three people in need of a transfusion. It is a need that never goes away, but only 3 out of 100 people in America donate blood. Please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733 2767) or visit www.redcrossblood.org to make an appointment. Hospice Volunteers needed – Hospice Volunteers are needed to provide companionship and support to patients as well as respite to caregivers. An hour or two given each week can brighten their lives and help them in a difficult time. If you might be interested in becoming a hospice volunteer, please contact Pat Wilson, Volunteer Services Manager at VITAS (628 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury) at 860-494-4600 or pat.wilson@vitas.com.

As part of St. Peter’s Pastoral Care Ministry, volunteers will be sending greeting cards to parishioners and those close to them in the event of illness, surgery, or a death in the family. Cards have been created by the committee and will begin to be sent in the month of February 2012. When you place a person’s name in the prayer bowl, if you wish to have a card sent, please include that person’s address and the reason for the greeting (illness, sympathy, etc.). If you know of someone you would like to receive a greeting, please contact Claire in the office. That will put the gears into motion. We hope this initiative will extend caring thoughts to our church and beyond. A note from the fundraising committee: In anticipation of the 2012 St Nicholas Fair, one new venture we are hoping to try is, “Live Green Arrangements or Centerpieces”. In keeping with that, we are looking for baskets with plastic liners, (so that they will hold water), or baskets for which we could provide a liner. If you receive an arrangement from a florist, please save the basket and bring it to church for us! Just before the fair, we will be looking for all kinds of greens – hopefully donated from parishioners’ land to fill the containers. We would be looking for all varieties of greens – pines, spruces, hemlocks, small leafed rhododendron, boxwood, holly, cedar, bayberry, and any other appropriate green filler. Please keep us in mind, as we look forward to this new feature of the fair.
