Greetings from Grace! We are happy that you have found our site and pray that we will see you in one of our services soon. We are located just six miles north of Hartford, off I-91 in Connecticut's oldest town- Windsor. Grace is a Christ-centered, Fundamental, Independent Baptist Church. Here, at Grace, we are family. Nothing says family more than a warm, friendly handshake and a smiling face that awaits you just inside the church door. Whether you are a first time guest or a regular church member, you are loved and cared for here.
At our church, we value and emphasize Relationships- Vertical, then Horizontal. First, A personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe that one day each person answer the question, "What did you do with Jesus Christ?" Jesus clearly stated, "Ye must be born again." At Grace, we boast only in the cross of Jesus Christ and we are passionate in proclaiming His message to the world. Second, we value our relationships within the body of Christ. How can I be right with God and wrong with a Brother or Sister in Christ? The Apostle John reminded us that this world would recognize us as God's followers by the LOVE we have for each other. In all that we do, we strive to be authentic in our worship and sincere in our relationships with each other. (I John. 4:20) The church has all too often become a place where petty differences and complaints are elevated above God's Word. We are striving to achieve unity in our church despite diversity in our culture. Third, we value our relationship to those outside the body of Christ. This should be shown in our methods and motives as we reflect the pure message of the cross. We have been commanded by Christ to reach the world and to proclaim God's love and we are unashamed to be His witnesses. (Matt. 18:19-20; John. 3:16)
Here at Grace, racial diversity and racial harmony are very important to us. Our church is a cultural melting pot with various ethnic groups from all over the globe. This is why we strive to achieve unity in our church, despite diversity in our culture. We each share different upbringing, experiences and cultural tastes yet Jesus Christ, our common bond, unites us. Galatians 2:26-28 says, "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."We are one in the body of Christ, regardless of ethnicity, social status or income. Also at Grace Baptist, the family unit is very important. We seek to strengthen the family foundations in a world where homes are crumbling before our eyes. We are a "family friendly church" that encourages parents to rally around the principles of God's Word. Our Sunday school classes, church activities and programs seek to edify and instruct families to follow God's Word.
