Sources have reported that, at the Fat Sunday Celebration held on March 6,  was standing room only!!  The Crescent City Kingcake Band's (aka Revuers)  groupies started the festivities by arriving early to get the best seats available.  Rumor has it that they will follow their band  anywhere!  They were soon followed by a large group of people looking for chili, cornbread, salad, apple crisp and ice cream. No one was disappointed as all sang, danced and ate their way through the evening.  Another highlight of the evening was the Joyful Noise Collection.  Children marched around with colorful bucket receiving donation in the sum of $488.52, which will be used to help fund Gulf Coast hurricane recovery through the National Disaster Ministries of the UCC, and Renewal House in Danbuiry (formerly Shelter of the Cross), working with elderly homeless in the greater Danbury area. Many people participated in the preparation of the event and the reporter at this time would just like to thank all who helped for fear that names will be forgotten.  You know who you are and you are just wonderful people with huge hearts.  It appears that reservations might be needed for Fat Sunday 2012 so keep an eye peeled for coming attractions!!
