Saint Andrew the Apostle Antiochian Orthodox Church
Pensacola, Florida

About Our Parish

St. Andrew’s is a growing church of about 50 families of various ethnic backgrounds. In addition, St. Andrew’s has many members who are former members of various faith traditions. Visitors are always welcome and parishioners are encouraged to bring their Orthodox and non-Orthodox friends to attend the liturgy.  Our services are conducted in English.

The Antiochian Orthodox Church, of which St. Andrew’s is a part, traces its origins to the church in Antioch, the capital of ancient Syria, that was established by the apostles Peter and Paul. Though the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America was founded in the late 19th century to serve immigrants from Syria and Lebanon, today it embraces Americans of all races and cultures.

The Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church’s roots trace directly back to first century Antioch, the city in which the disciples of Jesus Christ were first called “Christians” (Acts 11:26). The Orthodox Church is the oldest and second largest Christian group in the world. We are called by God our creator to worship and follow Him, and to proclaim to the world His message of love, peace, and salvation.

About Our Diocese

His Grace Bishop ANTOUN is the presiding hierarch of Miami and the Southeast, which encompasses parishes in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

About Our Archdiocese

The Self-Ruled Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, under the leadership of His Eminence Metropolitan PHILIP, sees itself on a mission to bring America to the ancient Orthodox Christian faith. We join our brothers and sisters in the various other Orthodox Christian jurisdictions affiliated through SCOBA (the Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the Americas) in this endeavor. In less than twenty years the Archdiocese has doubled in size to well over two hundred churches and missions throughout the United States and Canada.
