Humans still possessed the virus called Sin.  The Father, however, had a master plan; he would send his Son Jesus to die in our place, defeat sin on the Cross-, Jesus would rise again, and reconcile us back to him. This salvation is our new firmware.  

When we accept this “firmware” our slate is wiped clean never to be remembered again (I told you it throws out Spam and trash)!  The firmware is there to keep you from sinning but when you do sin or “crash” you have an advocate with the Father through Jesus Christ the righteous.  He is the propitiation or the appeasement for our sins (1 John 2:1-2). He performs a reboot of your system.  God gave His only begotten Son as a free gift of love to you  (John 3:16)
