John 15:1-17
According to the Gospel of John Chapter 15 verse 1 through 17 every genuine Christian is to become Christ's disciple by remaining in Him for fruit bearing.
Christ Jesus using the metaphor of the vine and the branches is simplicity explains a unique relationship from nature that has direct relationship with Him in relating to His church.
Concerning a vine and it's branches
In Nature there are seasons of pruning and pruning always accompanies pain and tears and seasons of rest, like winter or dry season where the soil receives less or sometimes almost very little water. Times of rest from fruit bearing in preparation for season's of more abundant fruit bearing.
Our Heavenly Father being the vindedresser seeing our fruit bearing capacity and knowing our future more abundant fruit bearing capacity for maturing, prunes us in our season of rest to prepare us for a future with more abundant fruit bearing by helping us to avoid future failures in times of heavy fruit bearing by cutting from us what can harm us in seasons of success and fruitfulness.
Please notice that only the branches that remain in Him and bear fruit are the ones being pruned and the ones that are not fruitful are cut off and thrown in the fire. Therefore if you and I are feeling the pain of being pruned let us only rejoice and be glad, because you and I are being only being prepared for more abundant fruitfulness and that we are not being cast out into the fire of unfruitfulness.
Seasons of pruning accompany times of suffering
2 Corinth. 1:1-12
I personally see the first chapter of 2 Corinthians verses 1 through 12, first a parallel to the second letter of Thessalonians chapter one verses 3 through 5 and secondly a demonstration or manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God for Paul and His converts at the church of Corinth that they may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for whice we all also suffer and will suffer, yet are delivered and will be delivered.
