So you want to get married?

We have a GREAT place!

The pastoral staff at Cypress Lake Presbyterian Church would be thrilled to talk to you about making your wedding day very special.  We conduct weddings for both members and non-members, both at the church and at nearby locations, such as beautiful Sanibel, Captiva or Fort Myers Beach.  We also conduct all of the premarital counseling required by the state of Florida for a discount on your license.  Check out our website and see if we are the right place for you to get married!

What about the costs?

Weddings can get very expensive and we want to do everything in our power to help you keep your wedding day special, without costing a lot of money.  That being said, there will be many people working to make your day special.  There are 2 categories for fees:

Members - for folks who have been with Cypress Lake for at least 1 year.

Non-Members - for folks that have never joined our church family (or are inactive) but would still like to get married in our beautiful church, or be married offsite by one of our pastors.

What about premarital counseling?

The pastors at Cypress Lake Presbyterian feel that premarital counseling is absolutely essential to getting your marriage off to a good start.  Not only do we discuss the wedding day, we also discuss what it means to be married for a lifetime.  Normally, the classes last about 1 to 1.5 hours each, are conducted in private sessions with the couple, and total at least 4 hours (the minimum required by the state to receive a discount on your license).  The sessions are fun, filled with laughter and smiles, but are also serious, as we make your special day part of a special life together!

There are occassions when the premarital counseling may be conducted by another pastor or where no counseling is conducted at all.  These are exceptions to the norm and need to be arranged in advance by the pastor conducting your wedding.

The Pastors are the final authority as to the content and conduct of all weddings at Cypress Lake Presbyterian Church.  In the VERY rare situation where the Pastor feels that the couple are not suited for a Christian wedding, the Pastor may postpone or refuse to hold the wedding.  This is a rare situation, but the Pastors want to be certain that they are serving the couple and God well!
