On a recent visit to Guyana, Phillip Gray, Senior Pastor of New River Wesleyan Church, met The Honorable Samuel Hinds, Prime Minister of Guyana. The Prime Minister attended a service that Dr. Gray was a speaker at. Afterwards they were able to have a brief meeting and a photo op. NRWC has been integrally involved in ministry in Guyana for over the past six years.

New River Wesleyan is committed to the following principles.

1. Centrality of God's Word - We are committed to a proclamation of God's Word which is clear, theologically sound, and communicated in a relevant and practical way.

2. Passionate spirituality - We recognize that it is only the presence and power of the Holy Spirit that enables us to live obedient, transformed lives. The prayer life of our members reflect a deep dependence upon God. Experiencing God and following Him is a hallmark of our ministry.

3. Fruitful evangelism - We are committed to reach our community, our nation, and our world for Jesus Christ regardless of racial, economic, or political barriers.

4. High impact worship - New River Wesleyan promotes inspiring worship which glorifies God and engages the heart, mind, and emotions of people with God.

5. Mission and vision driven - Our fellowship has a keen sense of God's great commandment to go into all the world. A clearly communicated mission and vision for reaching the lost is constantly kept before the people.

New River Wesleyan is a vibrant, friendly congregation of believers who are committed to "lifting the name Jesus." We come from different countries, cultures, and even ethnic groups. Locally, we live at different addresses, work in a variety of occupations, and shop at diverse stores. Even our preferences in styles of music varies greatly. However, we love to come together in the bond of love, worshipping our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We have found that together we can conquer great things for Him. We are family, we are one! We welcome you to join this wonderful community of believers.

Sometimes the long, hot summer months can spell disaster for churches. New River is focused on using this time in building relationships. We are calling this program, "Engage." We want to encourage you to be involved and see who you can develop a Christian relationship with. Be a life-changer!
