For over fifty five years our local church has had a rich history, known as First Wesleyan Church. This name represents passionate prayers and compassionate love as men and women have come to know Christ through the ministry of this church.  Over the years the demographics have changed considerably in our community. None of the founding individuals or their families remain in the congregation. We honor these founders and their faith and legacy that they leave behind.

As we look to the future a new vision has unfolded and new people have claimed the passion for the future ministries of this church. New River Wesleyan is a product of renewed spiritual blessings that the congregation has experienced over the past few years.  Although there has been a name change we still are committed to the local community and serve the same God whom the founding families believed in.

We're looking to the future with great anticipation, believing that He has something special for New River Wesleyan in fulfilling the Great Commission.

WOW! We continue to see RECORD HITS on the NRW website. Praise the Lord, we have had over 7200 hits on this website since August, 2007. The live streaming is gaining a congregation and people are listening, literally, around the world. We are grateful for the tremendous response as we continue to proclaim the glorious Gospel of Jesus.

New River Wesleyan started a systematic program to teach the Word of God to lay people as a means of discipling. The format is structured through a local program, The New River Wesleyan Institute of Christian Studies. Each participant receives a certificate of completion after they finish each subject being offered. Some of our recent course studies included, The Lord's Prayer, The Armour of God and The Prayer of Jabez. A certificate is offered for attendance for intensive courses. We wouldlove to have you join us for these studies. Look for a several new studies to be offered in 2009.

Missions Outreach to Guyana - Dr. Gray will be ministering in Guyana over the first week of December, 2009. While there he is scheduled to teach a class at the Wesleyan Bible College, visit a local hospital, tour several schools and visit an orphange. This is in addition to his administrative work and counseling that he does. He is excited because his older brother, Mr. Sam Gray will be going on the trip as well. Mr. Sam Gray is a clinical counselor from Arizona. He will be teaching a class at the college while there.

New River Wesleyan Church and Christian Crisis Counseling Services has ministered in Guyana for the past six years, investing thousands of dollars in the lives of needy souls. There is an urgent need for $5,000 to complete several urgent needs in Guyana. These include installing a computer lab at the college and purchase of a quality generator for the school as well.

If you would like to contribute to this outreach effort please go to the Stewardship tab and make a donation. There is so much to do yet so little money to accomplish what is needed. If God provides funds in the future we want to branch out to assist a couple orphanges and schools. Pray with us about this. Your investment in souls will bring an eternal dividend. Thank you!

The new sign has been a tremendous tool in reaching the community. With the capability to announce service times and special events a number of people have already visited us as a result of this improvement.

New River is committed to maintaining God's property as a "lighthouse" to the community. The landscape, painting and other important aspects of being a good witness is vital to reaching the world for Christ. We only have one opportunity to leave a good impression on those around us. Someone once said, "holy shoddy is still shoddy."
